A
name with heritage, meaning, and mysterious
Names are far and vast;
ranging from Martinez to Wagner even names like Mao. What makes a name interesting
is the origin…at least that’s what is perceived as interesting. The interest in
a name is based on the pronunciation as well as the vocal recognition that
comes with it. Does the name “Vildosola” ring a bell? If you lived in Spain in
the late 18th century then yes it would sound interesting. Unless you’re
well over 300 years old (Holy Cow!!) then the name probably won’t sound
familiar. Then again, names like Justin and Thomas are so common, do they
really sound interesting at all?
Vildosola; a rough
translation (coming from me) means “Vila de la sol” or “Valley of the Sun. Not
much is known about my last name, from what I’ve been told it is a very popular
name in spain as a whole region is named “Vildosoloa”. Amazing isn’t it? How can
one city, a titled after a name, one such as this, be a last name? Well your
guess is as good as mine, I’ve only been told what has been passed down from
generation to generation. That name is well respected in spain, as a man by the
name of “Gabriel Antonio De Vildosola” is a well known banker in spain. I have
no idea if we are related, if we are; hey cousin, remember me? I could use a
few loans for free.
Now Thomas, not much
meaning to it at first, but when you hear how my middle name came to be you’d
be surprised at its meaning. When I was born, I was born with the umbilical
cord wrapped around my stomach, making it nearly impossible for me to breath.
The doctors were worried about my health as I did not come out crying like how
most babies do when they are born, so they had to transport me to a specialized
section of the hospital for babies called the NICU: Neo-Natal Intensive Care
Unit, they specialized in the well being of infants and babies. I was a “miracle
baby”, I should not be alive but the fighting spirit within me made me cling to
life. Quite a mouthful so far, huh? Well, it’s not over yet, ok it kind of is.
Last
but not least, my first name; the story comes to its conclusion (finally!).
Justin has no significance whatsoever by itself, which is why my middle name is
Thomas. I was due in the middle of August, being the late procrastinator that I
am, I decided to stay and marinate a little longer before coming out into the
world. So, I was born in September 15, 1991 at 5:31 AM (I think?) thus adding
to the world another youthful spirit. Yes it seems like I have been dragging on
and I have actually, but everything that was mentioned here is the truth. The
doctor came to my mom and said “Do you have a name for him?” She answered with
yes; “Justin Thomas”. The name became clear to me when she said that by the
time I was due I was supposed to be delivered through C-Section as I was
becoming to big to be born in natural causes. So I was born “Just in time” or “Justin
Thomas”. Honestly, I think it’s pretty cool as I have somewhat of a title; im
not on time nor am I early, I merely arrive when I am needed.
